National Benefit Solutions of Healthy Eating

How many of us could stand to eat better? How many of us consume too many calories, or too much salt, or fat compounds? In what ways would our lives be better if ate healthier, and consumed less? Challenge yourself to two weeks of healthy eating and see if there’s not a noticeable difference. If there isn’t, then its all just talk and meaningless. But, if there is a change, what then?

National Benefit Solutions

How could us as a nation benefit from collectively changing the way we eat. Recently, a chef changed the way a small town eats, and America watched as they completed the change. Do you know what you are putting into your body? Do you know what the chemicals are that are in that long list of stuff that’s in all of our processed foods? What ever happened to eating fresh, healthy foods? Did we really go and get ourselves in such a hurry that eating the right thing is a thing of the past? A two week challenge might not seem like a lot, but it might be enough to convince to at least change your eating habits.

Taking small steps in changing your diet can be key to your ability to maintain your diet. Many times, drastic changes are what makes it tough to stick to something that’s so different to what you’re used to. If you make gradual small changes in your diet, your taste buds will adapt, and the changes will be more easily handled. One of the national benefit solutions of a healthier diet would be a lowered strain on the health care system, shorter lines at your doctors office, and healthier workers in the workforce. The national benefits are practically immeasurable.

Start by drastically reducing your sodium intake. Around 2300mg of sodium per day is a good starting point. Reduce or even eliminate processed foods like frozen dinners and prepared meals, they are usually riddled with salt and other chemicals your liver could do without! Reduce the amount of sugar intake, and you will have a lowered chance of diabetes. There are several documented cases of people with diabetes or borderline diabetics that were ‘cured’ by a drastically altered diet. Eat as much fresh fruits and vegetables as you want! Keep in mind, certain fruits will naturally turn to sugar, and that goes doubly for certain foods as well. Avoid things like canned vegetables and opt for fresh frozen vegetables. In many cases, the freshly frozen vegetables are healthier than some of the ‘fresh’ produce at your supermarket. These vegetables went right from the vine or the root or the stalk, directly into the freezer, which helps to lock in tons of great nutrients and vitamins….stuff that gets lost over time during transport and sitting in the refrigerated bins at the market.

Making small, healthy changes to your diet will most definitely create  national benefit solutions to healthy living, and will improve your life in many ways! Give it a shot and see what happens.
